Jobskills - Traineeship
Traineeships provide a programme of training for young people aged 16 to 19 who are not yet in employment and prepares them for work in the environmental or horticultural industries. A weekly training allowance is paid and training and assessment is provided on a day release basis during a period of work experience.
The programme includes:
- A full NVQ in Environmental Conservation or Amenity Horticulture at level 2, along with related knowledge
- One or more short certified courses such as Emergency First Aid, Pesticide Certificate, Manual Handling, Chainsaw Maintenance and Cross Cutting
- Key Skills units including Application of Number Communication Information Technology
Jobskills - Modern Apprenticeship
Modern Apprenticeship provides a programme of training for young people aged 18 to 25 who are already in employment in the environmental or horticultural industries. Training and assessment is provided on a day release basis.
The programme includes:
- A full NVQ in Environmental Conservation or Amenity Horticulture at either level 2 or 3 along with related knowledge
- One or more short certified courses such as Emergency First Aid, Pesticide Certificate, Manual Handling, Chainsaw Maintenance and Cross Cutting
- Up to 6 Key Skills units including Working with others, Problem solving, Communication and improving own learning

The Jobskills programme is aimed at young people in the target age ranges who want to gain employment or improve their career potential in the conservation or amenity horticulture industries and provides considerable flexibility.
