Spring(watch) into Action!
27 May 2008
Springwatch Action Team (SWAT) is a transformation project run by BBC Breathing Places where a team of volunteers led by Conservation Volunteers will work to create a real Breathing Place.
Two public green spaces will each be given a 4 hour make-over and the public will be invited to see the transformation take place and get involved in other activities around the area throughout the day. The team will also consist of volunteers from local community groups, organisations and Derry City Council.
Both sites will be given their make-over on Friday 6 June 2008, Kilfennan Valley Park 1pm-5pm and Strathfoyle 8am-12noon. To mark the national “Volunteers Week” (1-7June) and show our appreciation, Conservation Volunteers will hand out certificates thanking the volunteers for their time and commitment on the day and throughout the year.
