Portglenone Enterprise Group receive B&Q Award

The Portglenone Enterprise Group have fended off 1,000 other entrants to scoop the B&Q One Planet Living Award.

The community orientated initiative will receive £3,000 of B&Q products and also support from local employees towards an environmental initiative at Portglenone Forest Park.

Announcing the results Declan O’Malley from B&Q in Ballymena, said he was delighted to learn that Portglenone had won the award and looked forward to supporting organisers.

This award will help the GLOW project – Portglenone Green Gym – in purchasing a storage shed and various tools to be used to clear the local pond, plant flower beds, provide seating areas and install habitat boxes for local wildlife.

Portglenone Enterprise Group are absolutely delighted to have won a B&Q One Planet Living Award, “The materials and resources that B&Q have awarded us will enable us to make a real difference to our local environment. The changes we will implement will not only reduce our impact on the planet but will help us to educate our local community about One Planet Living.”
