People's Millions - we need your vote!
20 November 2009
Conservation Volunteers Northern Ireland are in the final of the People’s Millions award and we need your help!
The People’s Millions is a competition between community projects which go head-to-head in bid to win a £50,000 lottery grant. It is run in partnership with the Big Lottery fund and ITV (UTV in Northern Ireland).
Voting is now over
Voting can take place between 9am and midnight on 25 November. The projects will be featured on the UTV news at 6pm on the same day.
We are hoping, with your help, to secure funding to deliver ‘Growing Communities in Carrickfergus’. It aims to develop a community fruit and vegetable growing project at Carrickfergus Community Allotments in Eden.
The project will include a demonstration garden and on-site horticultural training room which will involve local people in growing their own food and build links to local communities, encouraging cross-community working.
It will principally involve people from deprived communities in the wards of Northland, Sunnylands, Clipperstown and Love Lane in Carrickfergus and will also involve people with physical and mental health difficulties.
The only way this project will happen is if we get the votes. So please, pick up the phone on 25 November and vote ‘Growing Communities in Carrickfergus.’
