Mater Green Gym continues to Do It!

Since achieving the B&Q ‘You Can Do It Award’ earlier this year the Mater Green Gym has been busy rejuvenating the grounds of their Day Hospital. Regardless of the weather the team has been working tirelessly to achieve their end goal of creating a functional fruit and vegetable patch and a relaxation garden.
To formally present the award and see first hand the progress of the garden, Nigel Dodds MLA and local B&Q staff attended a small event on Friday 30 November. Enjoying a walk around the grounds Nigel Dodds was impressed by the obvious impact the Green Gym team have made to the garden using tools and materials obtained from B&Q Award.
The work to rejuvenate the Day Hospital garden is ongoing and will keep the Mater Green Gym team busy well into next year. A celebration of their achievements and the official re-opening of the garden is planned for May 2008 in conjunction with BTCV’s Spring into Action.
