Conservation Volunteers swap spades for guns in an effort to raise funds

15 June 2010

People shooting clay targets

Conservation Volunteers Northern Ireland swapped their spades for guns on 12 June in an effort to raise vital funds for Conservation Volunteers.

A charity clay pigeon shoot took place at the Burnside Clay Pigeon Shoot in Ballyclare.

The forty bird sporting event was a great success with over £1,000 being raised. The money raised from the event will go towards funding conservation projects throughout Northern Ireland.

“In these tough economic times the work of volunteers in protecting the environment through practical action has never been more important”, explained Barbara Boardman, Director of Conservation Volunteers Northern Ireland.

Conservation Volunteers Northern Ireland would like to thank everyone for their support of the Clay Pigeon Shoot both before and on the day, without your help this fundraising event would not have been possible.
