Larch
Larix spp.
This deciduous conifer has needle like leaves which turn colour in Autumn and fall, leaving the tree bare except for the old cones which contain the seeds. Although not native, the European larch grows well here, and the cones provide food for tits and finches.
Larch seed should be treated as for Scots Pine, with 4 weeks cold stratification.
