Privet
Ligustrum vulgare
Although usually grown in garden hedges, there is a wild privet which is found in Irish hedgerows. It has long dark green leaves and small cones of sweet smelling cream flowers which ripen to small black berries. Privet may be grown from these berries (see advice for elder) but is easily propagated by cuttings.
