No. of trees planted: 11
No. of people involved: 30
On a cloudy morning, with a shade of hope for the sun to shine, Conservation Volunteers Northern Ireland arrived at Tir Na Nog Primary School in Ballyclare. We were to plant 11 bigger trees in a young hedgerow that already existed near a fence. All the 30 pupils of the school were to help!
The children were arranged into 3 groups (all ages together) and, along with our 5 helpers, each group went off to plant their trees. The children were very considerate and tried to help each other, making sure that everyone had a go. It was a lovely day, the children enjoyed themselves and the rain managed to stay away while the trees were being planted.
