St. Patrick's Primary School, Loughguile

Date: 24 January 2006
No. of trees planted: 16
No. of people involved: 209
After a long journey to Loughguile, we were greeted by a school full of enthusiastic and energetic children, eager to plant their new trees to brighten up the school grounds.
Each year group planted two trees (in groups of three – if that doesn’t sound too confusing) in different areas of the school… apparently, trees grow better in small groups!
Starting with the nursery, we worked with every child in the school in the hope that they will take on some of the responsibility for looking after the trees and making sure they aren’t vandalised.
