On a very damp and cool spring(?) day, children from Primary 4 braved the elements to plant an extension to their hazel coppice. St. Malachy’s has a well-established wildlife garden but needed a small number of new plants to replace some willow that had outgrown its usefulness.
At the same time, some lesser celandine plants were transplanted into another woodland area. These plants had been grown by a local volunteer and donated to the school. “The best day ever”, shouted one of the children as they returned, a little bedraggled, for lunch.
