On a lovely sunny day in February, we arrived with our spades at St. Joseph’s College and set about creating a new mini-woodland behind the school mobiles.
This corner of the school was unused and backed on to a large overgrown hedge. It provided a great opportunity to extend the habitat created by the hedge into the school.
Pupils from the gardening club took a welcome break from their classroom activities to enjoy the sunshine, get slightly mucky and make a great contribution to improving the school’s biodiversity.
