St. John the Baptist Primary School, Portadown
Date: 5 March 2008
No. of trees planted: 200
No. of people involved: 90
On a windy morning, we headed towards St. John the Baptist’s for another tree planting day.
After a(nother) good cup of tea, we started to plant the trees with the bigger children. The school had already begun to plant some trees at the top of the football area. To complete this, we had a further 200 to plant.
Then the smaller children arrived and, with good organisation, each child chose an older partner. Divided up like this, the older dug and the younger planted – very good team work!
It seemed to be very good fun for each of them and the children each gave a name to their tree.
