St. Anthony's Primary School, Larne

At the entrance to the school is a paved courtyard. Two existing beds – created by removing some of the paving slabs – provide some greenery. John Graham, principal of St. Anthony’s, applied to the Northern Ireland Tree Campaign for some trees to add some height and to attract birds.
Parents lifted more of the paving slabs at the weekend and we came along to help plant some rowan and downy birch into the new gaps. In no time at all, in the pouring rain, the brave Primary 5 class planted the trees and even managed a smile for the camera before running inside to dry out!
