Sharman Community Group, Crawfordsburn (2008)

Date: 8 March 2008
No. of trees planted: 250
No. of people involved: 12
On Saturday 8 March, we were in a beautiful place in Crawfordsburn to plant trees. The weather started out not very good, but showed signs of improving and, progressively, people came until we were about 12.
We had 250 trees to plant: hazel, oak, rowan, ash and birch. The ground was already prepared and we had just to go where they had placed a stick for each tree – being careful because the bank was slippery!
It was a very nice time, we worked and talked at the same time! And in the middle of the morning, it was time for a break for the traditional tea time with biscuits! After that, it was back to work to finish planting.
Before we left we promised to come back for the next event in Sharman House…
