The “Flobadob” Gardening Club at Limavady High School applied for some trees to enhance the school environment. A patch of grass at the back of the school – next to the playground – was chosen as the ideal spot on which to create a new mini-woodland.
Ably assisted by three volunteers (see picture, left), Northern Ireland Tree Campaign staff guided four classes during the day. Each pupil from each class planted at least one tree. Even some of those that were reluctant at first were eager to plant a second tree. If we had the space, the whole of the school would have been covered in trees!
