Lagan Meadows Nature Reserve is managed by the Ulster Wildlife Trust (UWT) and contains a rich variety of habitats.
The Trust wanted to replace a hedge along the edge of a field and to plant up some gaps in existing hedges to improve their condition. This would have benefits to the wildlife that lives on and visits the reserve.
To help with the planting, UWT enrolled the muscles of the 81st Belfast Scout Group and, on a sunny Saturday morning, they did a great job of planting all the trees in no time at all.
