“Only a year ago, this was a field of mud”, said Roy Murray, chairman of the Killyfole and District Development Association. Today the area’s transformation was almost complete as children from Aghadrumsee Primary School and Association members helped to plant a small native wood and a new hedgerow.
Trees were chosen to mirror the species nearby in what is Northern Ireland’s most wooded county, Fermanagh. The area will be used as a field study centre by local children and the native trees will attract a range of animals to study, as well as being a great way to learn about trees in a safe and contained manner.
