When we started our drive to Hollybank Primary School it rained heavily but, when we arrived at the school, the sun begun to shine.
The 13 pupils from the school’s Green Club and their teacher spent the next hour planting 26 trees and 3 hollies behind their sport field.
In pairs, the pupils started to plant the willows, birch trees and rowans. They were really enthusiastic and at the end the triangle was full of trees; and shoes, hands and trousers were all dirty.
Just as we finished the tree planting it began to rain again, so we couldn’t say no to the invitation of a cup of tea and some biscuits.
