Grosvenor Grammar School is quite lucky that it has large school grounds. However, most of it is playing fields and grass, which alone don’t provide habitat for a wide variety of wildlife…
Roll up Conservation Volunteers with a van full of trees, spades and mulch mats. Mix that with a great group of “Eco Carers” from the school. Add in another batch of enthusiasm from other pupils and the result is a wonderful mosaic of new woodland!
It will take a few years to establish but, with care, this will enhance the school grounds, provide a home for local birds and insects and give the school an extra dimension for the education of its pupils.
