Downshire Nursery is a small nursery in Banbridge that has a car park surrounded by some grass. The nursery applied for some trees to add some diversity to the area and hopefully attract some birds and insects.
Although, at the beginning of the morning the weather seemed to be quite wet, the children were able to find some time to come outside. Most were smaller than the spades, but very happy to make a place for their new trees and improve their school grounds.
Our little helpers and us planted 4 trees: a hazel, two downy birch and one crab apple. After the hard work, a photographer from the local newspaper came to take a picture from the event and everybody was ready to give a big smile for the camera.
