Another school with another large area of grass, which is mowed closely the whole year. Whilst good for sport, it’s not the best for wildlife!
For the first session, we planted a small number of large trees near a mobile classroom. Later on, a larger number of small trees were used to create a woodland edge – protecting each tree from weed competition with a degradable mulch mat.
A sunny Valentine’s Day – we seem to be blessed by sunny days – was made perfect by the enthusiasm of the children!
