Alexander Dickson Primary School, Ballygowan

Date: 10 March 2005
No. of trees planted: 25
No. of people involved: 30
Following the felling of a number of large overgrown conifers, Alexander Dixon Primary School needed to provide some shelter to the school and a bit of extra habitat for the local wildlife.
The conifers were blocking out a lot of light and deciduous, native trees would do a better job – allowing in more light, whilst still slowing down the wind and protecting the school.
Twenty five small trees were planted to ensure that they grow strongly.
