In 1954, the 41st Belfast Boys Brigade carried out a significant tree planting campaign. Half a century on, the current members of this North Belfast Boys Brigade Unit celebrated the planting’s fiftieth birthday by planting fifty more trees with help from the Northern Ireland Tree Campaign.
Despite the chilly weather, fifteen eager Boys Brigade members planted a mixture of alder, ash and hazel trees. Conservation Volunteers were on hand to offer advice and planting tips on how to make sure that all the trees were planted properly.
