Autumn Seed Harvest Workshops
Autumn was a busy time for the Northern Ireland Tree Campaign. Our staff and volunteers traveled across Northern Ireland delivering “Autumn Seed Harvest” or ASH workshops. These fun sessions, held during the autumn seed collecting season, were suitable for all ages and showed participants how to grow Northern Ireland’s native trees from seed through a very ‘hands-on’ approach.
If you’ve ever wondered about answers to the following questions, or would just like to know more about growing native trees from seed, then a seed workshop would have been for you?
- How do I know if my hazelnut will grow?
- Is dormancy anything to do with mice or volcanoes?
- When should I start seeing the first signs of growth?
- Do I have to clean the flesh from my hawthorn berries?
- Why do mice keep eating my acorns?
Please contact us for more details or to ask us to deliver a workshop or two for you! We also offer a couple of tree-growing-related training courses each year and have another wonderful resource – our Trees of Our Future website. Why not pay it a visit and find the answers to these questions and more…
