We are seeking trainees in Belfast for Training for Success (TFS) to start in mid-September 2010. Both the Skills for Work and Programme-led Apprenticeship options are available.
*Who can join Training for Success?*
Training for Success is aimed at young people aged 16 and 17 and is a training scheme for those who have finished school and want skills and experience for their future career.
*What the course includes?*
Over a one year programme trainees work towards the following qualifications and skills and experience:
* Level 1 Certificate in Practical Horticulture Skills or the Level 2 Certificate in Work-based Horticulture.
* Essential Skills in Maths, English and Information and Communication Technology
* Careers visits and speakers making you aware of the scope in the horticultural and land based industries.
* A work placement to gain real experience to understand the industry and help you seek future employment.
* Building your confidence and understanding.
* Involve you in team activities.
* Helping you with interview skills and the completion of job applications.
*How long does it take?*
The whole programme takes a year. Initially trainees attend 3 days per week and do horticultural training, Essential Skills and other training like careers awareness and visits to employers. After a few months trainees attendance increases to 5 days per week with 2 days spent in a work placement.
*What do you get paid?*
