Pupils and teachers from Eden Primary School helped plant 100 native trees at Eden Allotments as part of National Tree Week in November.

The pupils made their way to the site on foot to join staff and volunteers from Conservation volunteers in the annual treeplanting event.

The 37th annual National Tree Week ran from 26th November to 4th December 2011.

Every year millions of trees are planted across the UK as part of the initiative and Carrickfergus Borough Council host a school treeplanting event each year to celebrate the occasion.

Planting alongside the pupils were local MLA Roy Beggs and Councillor Andrew Wilson.
