Millennium Volunteers success…

3 May 2008

At the end of March 2008, Conservation Volunteers’ ten year association with Millennium Volunteers (MV) came to a close.

Looking back at the project, over one hundred 18-24 year-old volunteers have gained from their experiences with us. As an organisation providing conservation volunteering opportunities, we depend on people like these to help carry out the work that we do - so the relationship worked both ways!

Karen Kane, Conservation Volunteers’ MV co-ordinator said “MV was a great scheme that benefited many young people through Conservation Volunteers. It was great fun and a pleasure to meet so many enthusiastic volunteers from many different countries!”

Millennium Volunteers (MV) is a government programme which aims to promote and recognise a sustained commitment by young people taking part in voluntary activity. Conservation Volunteers Northern Ireland was a local project provider.
