Mater earns Environmental Certificate

On 7 July the Mater Green Gym group completed another Environmental Certificate. The group have been learning about healthy eating from the Eat Well Plate and have also been growing their own fruit and vegetables.
The environmental certificate involved answering questions about healthy eating and its benefits, as well as playing the “Belly Busters” game.
Lindsay McManamon, Green Gym Officer, said, “The Mater Green Gym team are a fantastic group to work with and it’s great to see them get some recognition for all the hard work and learning that they readily take on. We hope that our newly developed certificates, which the team are some of the first to complete, will be an additional way for us to show our appreciation and I hope that some of the members will take confidence in completing them and will go on to take up further accredited training.”
The certificates will be awarded to the group later this year at our Green Heroes awards ceremony.
