Welcome to Conservation Volunteers Northern Ireland
We care about the environment and the people who live in it and organise a range of conservation projects across Northern Ireland working towards a better environment where people feel valued, included and involved.
We can offer you the opportunity to gain new skills through our training or from one of the many practical volunteering opportunities available with us. If it's advice you're after, we can offer that too and you'll find an abundance of useful, practical information on biodiversity.
For more information on what we can offer, please read on...
Training Courses

We offer a range of training courses with experienced instructors. Courses range from practical skills, such as fencing and dry stone walling to courses to help you in your chosen career, like leadership. We can support you towards an NVQ too. Whatever you choose, you will learn new skills and develop your knowledge and confidence.
Practical Action

We offer tree and hedge planting, fencing, hedge laying, dry stone walling, shrub and wildflower planting, woodland management, pond construction, living willow structures, shrub clearance, path construction, wildlife and community gardens, site maintenance and more, through our Conservation Action Teams (CATS). Delivered from our five offices, projects are carried out by teams of staff and trained volunteers.

The Green Gym

The Green Gym is a health initiative offering individuals an outdoor alternative to conventional gyms - the opportunity to increase their physical activity levels through direct involvement in practical conservation activities.
Biodiversity

The world is a diverse place, inhabited by millions of different living things, with probably millions more that have not yet been discovered. Biodiversity is the whole variety of life on earth. Northern Ireland has a rich biodiversity that we are a part of. Click here for advice on a range of topics and information on the latest biodiversity projects.
Trees and wildflowers

Our tree nursery sells native trees, many grown from seeds collected by volunteers from native woodland in Northern Ireland. They also stock some long established non-native trees and all the accessories you will need to get your trees off to a good start.
The wildflower nursery supplies native wildflowers grown from locally collected seed and ornamental shrubs, chosen for their wildlife value.
Our nurseries are playing a part in maintaining the gene pool of native species by replacing some of the wildflower meadows, trees and hedgerows which are in decline, thus helping to preserve our irreplaceable insect, mammal and bird life.
The Green Machine

The Green Machine is an environmental outreach programme based around a 7 metre truck that delivers environmental games, talks and activities to schools and all types of youth groups throughout Northern Ireland.
Conference Facilities

Dendron Lodge is a late eighteenth century building in the courtyard of Clandeboye Estate.
It is available for hire as a venue for meetings, workshops, training events and conferences. Residential accommodation also available.
